DO ZOMBIES NEED KINDNESS TOO?

You all know we just love a good old fashioned zombie movie here at Serve.  In fact, the head honcho, Steve Sjogren even has an church planting and church growth series where he talks about making sure that your church does not make the mistake of hiring zombies pretending to be chaplains or ministers on your staff.  Ya see, they are bringers of death and kill momentum and energy faster than any other pitfall you will face in your endeavors in the kingdom.  Zombies are never a good thing--it is better that you put them out of your misery and prevent awkward moments for everyone involved.  For more information visit Kindness Resources today for some of Steve's great material.

So on with the show.  I really do think that folks that do outward focus ministry on a regular basis tend to have a twisted sense of humor.  It is what makes us so good at what we do.  If you are not already a big fan of zombie comedies like Fido, or Shaun of The Dead, you need to get right on that like lickety split.  I can't think of a better place to start than by checking out the new movie, Zombieland:

See the cool thing about this here movie is that it really does work as a metaphor (or is that one of dem dere smiley faces?) for doing outreach in the community.  See while there is no right or wrong way to do evangelism (all evangelism is good--anything that promotes Jesus and salvation is never a curse) there are a few guidelines you should consider.  That doesn't mean there isn't room for different approaches to gain the same result.  Just like the art of zombie killing:

I really did like the way the two characters in this movie were a contrast.  Kinda like how me and Steverino are just a bit different--I will let you guess, after you watch the movie, which one of us is more like the character played by Woody Harrelson:

Billy Bob Briggs is a cousin to the infamous Drive-In movie critic Joe Bob Briggs.  We can't afford to pay Joe Bob, so we offered Billy Bob a chance to try his hand at being a movie critic at Serve! in exchange for two cases of Husman's Barbecue Pork Rinds for each article he writes for us.  We happen to think he is a bit funnier than Joe Bob and we hope you agree.  If you have a film or internet video you would like Billy Bob to consider reviewing please email him.
