Have A Coke And Make Your Bookkeeper Smile? By Ken Glassmeyer
A little known fact about Steve Sjogren is that you never should offer him a Diet Pepsi. He is a Coke Zero man. Not only is this one of the greatest inventions of the century in his mind. Not only does it taste better than just about anything you will ever put in your mouth. . .the people behind it are very innovative. Come on have you seen their commercials? Clever, funny, and effective. This is the way we should approach tasks in the kingdom--maximizing creativity:
Even their international commercials are VERY funny:
All kidding aside, here is a whole new reason to switch to coke if you didn't already know about it. You can convert the bottle caps and case carton tabs into valuable resources to fund future Servant Evangelism endeavors. It is very simple to do, whether you are doing this as an individual, a small group, or a church-wide campaign. First, buy Coke products. If you are already buying 12 packs and cases of these for drink give-a-ways (by the way Dasani water counts) make sure you save the codes on the cartons. If you drink individual Coke products as a personal beverage save the bottle caps. Then go to their website, MYCOKEREWARDS.COM (click on the logo at the bottom of this article for a link) and simply enter the codes into your personal account you can set up. Over time (especially if you are doing this as a group) you gain enough points for supplies you can easily use for SE: coolers, more soft drinks, clothing items, novelties, gifts and even better restaurant gift cards that you can turn around and give away--without spending another dime. Just doing this on my own I have been able to average a extra give-a-way every month. I don't drink that many soft drinks either. For instance, this month the featured item are $5.00 gift cards for Subway. I can't think of a better way to show some one God's love in a practical and unique way than proving to them there is such a thing as a free lunch!
