The Samaritan Rebrand

At one point during the height of the pandemic, one in ten COVID-19 vaccines in the U.S. were coordinated through Samaritan’s volunteer management software. We were pretty proud of that. But we didn’t give the shots. And we didn’t work for hours behind masks. And we certainly didn’t put our safety on the line.

It was our clients and their employees and volunteers that did that. They’re the heroes. They’re the ones that saved lives.

In the story of the Good Samaritan, we hear about a man on a donkey who comes across a stranger lying beside the road. The stranger has been robbed of his possessions and beaten half-to-death. Seeing someone in need, the Good Samaritan immediately gives what aid that he can, then he puts the stranger on his donkey and leads them both to an inn. There he pays for the restorative care that will bring the stranger back to health, before going on his way.

At Samaritan, we know we’re not the real heroes. We know that the actual Samaritan is you. You and your army of volunteers. Out there, everyday, saving the world.

Over the last several months, we’ve been thinking a lot about our values and about the images we use to represent our company. And so we got to thinking about our namesake and his trusty sidekick.

With that in mind, we’d like to introduce you to Samaritan’s new logo:

It takes a lot of work to manage an army. And that’s why we exist. To carry your burdens and to make your work behind the scenes as light as possible. So you can be you and do the hero stuff.

Acheivement Unlocked

Samaritan is very proud to announce that we’ve received a clean SOC 2 Type II attestation report. This rigorous, independent assessment of our internal security controls serves as validation of our dedication and adherence to the highest standards for security, confidentiality and availability.

This is an important milestone but is in no way an end to our commitment to our customers and the security of their data. Samaritan views security as the foundation upon which (1) our products are built and (2) trust with our customers is earned and maintained.

Samaritan uses automated platforms to (1) continuously monitor its internal security controls against the highest possible standards and (2) provide real-time visibility across the organization to ensure the end-to-end security and compliance posture of our systems.

Independently Audited

Conducted by a CPA firm registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, this attestation report affirms that Samaritan’s information security practices, policies, procedures, and operations meet the rigorous SOC 2 Trust Service Criteria for security, confidentiality and availability.

What is a SOC 2 Report?

Developed by the AICPA, SOC 2 is an extensive auditing procedure that ensures that a company is handling customer data securely and in a manner that protects the organization as well as the privacy of its customers. SOC 2 is designed for service providers storing customer data in the cloud.

As more enterprises look to process sensitive and confidential business data with cloud-based services like Samaritan, it’s critical that they do so in a way that ensures their data will remain safe. Our customers carry this responsibility on their shoulders every single day, and it’s important that the vendors they select to process their data in the cloud approach that responsibility in the same way.

Customers and prospects who are interested in discussing our commitment to security and reviewing our SOC compliance reports, we welcome you to contact us.
